The website of Bhimani Family welcomes you.

If we look in depth of existence of our family then according to the vedas and history, Bhimani family are the descendants of the Aryakul. Our original homeland was the central part of the continent of Asia. A group of our fathers which came through the way of Afghanistan’s Khaibarghat  and  had settled down in area which is today know as Punjab and Haryana. Arya Samaj at time of order as part of a nation was divided into four races i.e. Brahmin, Kshatriya, Vaishya and Shudra. From these four races originally we belong to Kshatriyas race and so Bhimani family is not the part of Vaishyas race. Our fathers who were living in Punjab and Haryana were known as Kumari Kshtriya. Even in today’s period the population of these Kumari Kshtriyas are in great numbers in Punjab and Haryana. According to the Adi – Parva of Mahabharat, Bhimani Family is the descendants of Kashyap Rushi – a rea son of Bhrama. Thus the whole Patidars originally belongs to the Kashyaps Gotra.

1000-2000 Years BC ago the people of this race came into large population and had settled down in the area of Punjab and Haryana. Substantially there was an increase in the population, leading to reduction in the agricultural land, even reduction in the animal husbandry and due to that reason the people of this race faced lots of problems. Consequently they left the area of Punjab and Haryana and got settled themselves at Bundilakhota- a place at Rajasthan. From that those who came from Leh area of Punjab and Haryana were known as Leuva and those who came from Karad they came to know as Kadva. Reaching there our group of fathers started the business of farming, and accepting that we turned our self from Kshatriya to Vaishnav race and came to know as a part of Vaishnav race. So inspiring from the name of kumara lastly we all came to know as Kumbadi.

Speaking in other words those who keep the kunbi of grains is kanbi.  The meaning of the word Kanbi in Sanskrit means “Bhu: Asya Asti Iti Kurmi”, means those who owed a land with them were known as Kanbi. Continuously farming in the desert region of Bundikot- a place in Rajisthan, and facing drought in that area, we entered in the north of Gujarat Umanagar (Now known as Unjha city) and inhabited in the near areas of Umanagar and strengthened the business of agriculture over there. Since that period of time we have established a farming society and are known as Patidar. From the great saint- Shri Harshvardhan Maharaj many years ago in his article 631 AC, specimen A and B, an officer named Aashkpatlik was found and based on him the words like Mahashkpatlik and Grahampashktalik were found. According to the Muslim Emperors from the period of 1412 to 1563, the head and the respected head of the villages were addressed as the Patlik and the short form of that is known as Patel. Due to this all the relatives and the family members living nearby came to be known as Patels. Expect using the word Patel in Kanbi, even in various religion like Vaniya, Bhrahmin, Muslims,Rabari,Bharvad and Koli started using that. But recently the usage of the word Patel has reduced to an extent in other mentioned religions. Currently only those who are Kanbi are only known as Patels.

From the period of time the Kanbi lived in Punajab and Hariyana always gave importance to Lord Shiva, whereas the King Vrajpals gave importance to Umiya Mata in the savant 212 and from that period of time all started worshiping Umiya Mataji and became their cultivation of the earth and was accepted by everyone. So from that period onwards the whole patidar family is believing and worshiping the Umiya Mataji. So in our society if we consider it as a part of management then Umiya Mataji have 52 statues, may be counted as gotra but the base of gotra is going to remain kashyap only. But according to the sub gotra our Bhimani familys main gotra which is been considered is “Pulatsya”. In the north of Gujarat at the time of the engagement of a boy and the girl the gotra is been asked. Where as in Kathiyavad their own native places and the business of their forefathers differentiates their surnames and at the time of the engagement of the sons and daughters these surnames are taken into considerations.

Vikram Savant 802 Vanaraj chavda disrupted the place named Patan. During this occasion Vanraj sent his followers to the patidars of uma for the dealing of the carts. But the persons who were originally of Kshatriya race patidar just for the sake of that refused to hand over the carts, due to which there were many differences among them. This difference between them existed forever between them. So due to the increase in population the land started to decrease for them, so from the period of Vikram Savant 792 to a period of 1499 their travelling to the Saurashtra regions started to begin. And from there in Vikram Savant 615 they settled in Bandhnej, a village of Vijapur- a taluka of North Gujarat. From the time of Joitaram bapa fathers as had Venidas bapa who had 2 sons, namely Bhim bapa and Parabat bapa. From that period of time we all settled in a place named Shihor in Bhavnagar near about in Vikram Savant 1100. From that all those who were ancestry of Bhim bapa had Bhimani as their surname whereas ancestry of Parabat bapa came to be known as Parvadiya.

These all Bhimani Families people in the year near about Vikram Savant 1399 settled in Chakampar, Near Morbi. In the Champar village they established a worship centre of Shri Maa Bahucharaaji according to the rituals been followed in Kathiyavad. We stayed nearly for about 18 months and then settled in a village named Mandal. From there in Vikram Savant 1411 they came to Hadiyada Village in Jodiya Taluka. There they all qualified themselves and engaged themselves into agriculture. From then the family of Bhimani has been increased to a great extent and in Savant 1622 in Hadiyana village one big incident had taken place which is been given importance in history till now. To remember this important incident of Bhimani race a book named “Kadva Patidar Bhimani Kul no Gauravanto Itihas”. This is a must to read. Every member of the Bhimani Family should be known to this incident and it is a must. This book which revelas that incident is been available at the Hadiyana village, a Ashram for the Bhimani families at a very reasonable price at Rs. 10. Due to this incident between the Bhimani Families the differences came into existence and all of them, then left the Hadiyana village. From that period of time there are no families of Bhimani in the Hadiyana village yet it is known as the main center of the Bhimani Family. In this village Surapura Dada and the Statue of Sati Maa the first family of Bhimani’s have been established there as a part of the great Ashram. In this ashram the goddess of kar of Bhimani Family Shri Bahuchar Mataji’s temple is also there. As the Bhimani Family leaved the Hadiyana village then it was divided into 3 parts. From that 3 parts one part is Jodiya Bandar the second portion was settled in Amarpara village which is in the side of the Dhank in Upleta district. After some time Bhimani Family left the Amarpar village and settled in Kanja village of Sorath. The third group of Bhimanis settled themselves in the area near Kutch and started the business of Dharal Dhirana. Due to this business we came to know as Shethiya Bhimani, but all the three group of the Bhimani Family is a part of the one Bhimji Bapa’s Family.

In the Savant 1622 as the incident occurred the family of Bhimani Family started living differently and as there were no developments of telephone and the vehicals we were not been able to remain in contact with each other. This they all established the temples of their Goddess Shri Bahuchar Mata in different different villages. Some of them made a rule for the Kadva Patidar to believe in the God Shri Umiya Mataji. In the incident that took place in Hariyana Surapura Gopaldada, Mavjidada and Sati Maa Lilu Maa was been martyr and his statue has been place in many villages and even in Junagadh But the name of that place and their brief is not given in any place. In the area of Gir there is one village named Jasadhar where Karshan bapa is been worshiped as Surapura Dada. That person is been supposed to be into existence since the savant 1965 or near about that. In Rajkot a village named Bangavadi Bhavaan Bapa is been worshiped as Surabapa who is approximately from the Savant 1800 or near about that time period. As the time passed the statue of Surapura Bapa was been established and transferred to Khanpar village. In Jamnagar District there is a village named Jaga (Medi) where Haribapa is been worshiped as Surapura Bapa who is approximately from the Savant 1900 or near about that time period. Even in Bodidhodi village the place of Surapura bapa is there. Before some years even in Ananda village Lilabapa was been worshiped as a Surapura Bapa. In Kutch Jivarambapa was the person who was worshiped as Surapura Bapa and whose place is been situated near the Rajpar Village from approximately Savant 1683 and the Parvadiya Family became Parvadiya and Bhimani Family are the brothers of the same origin so Bhimani Family also worshipping Jivarambapa. On above that in Kutch there is a village named Dhudhai in Savant 1660 in Maha Sud 13th a Sunday in Meghbai Maa known as Pramabai was been absorbed by the earth and that place is now been worshiped as Sati Maa.

Due to the lack of development in the telephonic services and problems of vehicles they faced many various situations, had to settle in different places, had different sections of Barot due to which the Bhimani Family had to spread out themselves in groups, but then also they strongly believed in Umiya Mataji, Bahuchar Mataji, Surapura Bapa and due to the grace of Sati Maa the whole Bhimani Family is one in the world. By looking in the history of the Whole Bhimani Family all of them became one family. In the year 2000 In the month of May Date 11th all of the members of Bhimani Family gathered at Hadiyana village and there they all accepted that they were the origins of Bhimaji Bapa and are the part of one Family only. All those are considered as the Surapura from the first and foremost in Savant 1622 was Gopaldada who is considered as our hereditary grandfather. In this way the mass of near about 2000 big families became one and giving that thing the main priority and importance every year on 11th of May the whole Family of Bhimani gathers in the Hariyana Villages ashram and celebrate that day as a part of a big festival. Gathering affectionately, Sacrifice, Maha Prasad, Awards to the students of their religion, respect to the elders, festivals of last year, and being helpful to each other was the motto of the Bhimani family and have reached and achieved it. A day before that i.e. on the 10th there are arrangements for the Bhajans in the evening and the cultural dance of the Gopis. The whole excitement of the Bhimani Family starts from the morning of the 10th of May. In sucha a big family all the members of Bhimani family comes together at this day and takes a Maha Prasad is a great part of luck for us. In this way as the whole Bhimani Family gathered in Hadiyana village and accepted as their palce of origin, in the same way to strengthen their unity they established different statues and on the date 19/5/2010 the temple of Maa Bahucharaji was been established in the Ashram.

Thus in the whole year at any point of time the Bhimani Family can come there and worship and for that for the 12 months there have been arrangements made for the food which considered as the main service of them. But the whole Bhiamni Family should gather once compulsory in the month of May on 11th which is a must.

The whole Bhimani Family comes closer to each other, knows each other in a better way stays in contact with each other and may be helpful to each other and feel the spirit of unity.  This activity which has been carried out for the first time is successful and further it is accepted that all of them have co-operate according to their positions and times. If it is possible going to different places then go to the minute of that place, because viewing it from far no one can find out the beauty of that place. Thinking in this manner If there is any mistake or anything is been left out to be told then think and treat as a part of this Big Bhimani Family and considering as a child of your family forgive us for that.
